Our Values

Respect / Kia Whakaute	We speak nicely to others, within our school or in our community We look at the person speaking, waiting until it is appropriate to ask questions or offer our thoughts. We think about what other people need within our learning environment and in our homes and community. We look after our equipment, school surroundings, and our belongings. We use resources wisely, and put things we can’t use again or recycle into the proper bin.
Responsible / Kia Haepapa	We look after our belongings, putting them in the right place whether we are at school or at home. We look after our equipment at school and always help tidy up. We turn off lights if they are not needed. We keep our bathrooms and shared areas tidy and clean. We all join in to make sure our classroom is clean and tidy as much as possible, especially at the end of the day.
Confident / Kia Māia	We greet visitors to our school politely, and if needed, we escort them to the person or area they need. We like to talk about our learning, and can explain it to other people. We like to learn new things, and ask questions politely if we are unsure of anything. We like to display our work in our classroom, and make sure we use our best skills to write, draw, speak and present.
Independent / Kia Mana Motuhake	We look after our own belongings and take care of them ourselves. We listen and learn carefully, and try different strategies before asking for help. We know that we are representing our families and community, and always behave to our highest standards.
Proud / Kia Hūkere	We know our school is unique and special. We are happy to talk about our learning and school, and to explain how this is special. We look after ourselves, our friends, the adults who support us, and our environment. We stand tall. We know about our history, and how things happened to contribute to the lives we lead today. We know that we are on a pathway of excellence and how important we are in contributing to our school, community and country.
